More about this coffee and its origins
Sulawesi Yolan Tirta Washed Typica | Specialty Coffee Indonesia
This exceptional washed coffee is produced without chemical fertilisers by third generation coffee farmer Yolan Tirta, a leading figure in the revival of specialty coffee in Sulawesi, Indonesia.
Yolan has been instrumental in elevating the region’s reputation for quality. Rather than keeping his expertise to himself, he has empowered his community by establishing mini mills and drying facilities and introducing advanced processing methods. The result is a coffee that showcases clarity, balance, and depth - proving this historic origin can deliver a world class cup.
Typica is the ancestor of many modern coffee varieties. First cultivated in Yemen from Ethiopian stock, it was introduced to Indonesia by the Dutch East India Company in the 1750s, making it a foundational variety in Indonesian coffee history.
This coffee is a celebration of heritage, sustainability, and modern specialty craftsmanship.
